Sweet Dijon Chicken Drumsticks

chicken dinner gluten-free recipe slow cooker Oct 11, 2020

Here’s a super simple slow cooker recipe with less than five minutes of prep and easy ingredients:

Chicken drumsticks

Dijon mustard

Maple syrup

Balsamic vinegar

This one’s a family favorite with the perfect balance of flavors and the meat falls right off the bone. ⠀

 ⠀

Sweet Dijon Chicken Drumsticks⠀

5 - 6 chicken drumsticks⠀

1/4 cup maple syrup⠀

1/4 cup dijon mustard⠀

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar⠀

Garlic salt and pepper to taste⠀

1 tbsp arrowroot powder or corn starch (optional)⠀ ⠀

1. Grease/spray slow cooker with your oil of choice. Place chicken drumsticks inside. Salt and pepper chicken to taste.⠀

2. Whisk together syrup, mustard and vinegar in a small bowl. Pour over chicken.⠀

3. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.

4. Optional step: Once chicken is cooked, carefully remove drumsticks (the meat will fall off easily). Sprinkle arrowroot powder onto the sauce left in the slow cooker, and whisk until combined. Cover, and cook on high for five minutes or until thickened. Place drumsticks back into sauce to reheat to your liking.

Enjoy!

I’ve been using the slow cooker a lot these days, and it’s been nice not rushing to throw something together at the eleventh hour. A little bit of prep goes a long way!⠀
